The Village of Many Words
Meet Mr. Inquisitive, Mrs. Vigilant, and ten more unforgettable characters.
Where Forgotten Words Become Unforgettable Characters
Once upon a time, people gathered to share stories, meals, and words rich with meaning.
In the Victorian era, words like 'magnanimous' and 'sagacious' flowed naturally in everyday conversation. Today, we recognize 40,000 words but use only 1,000 to 3,000 in daily speech. When we lose words, we lose nuance. We lose awareness. We lose connection.
Stone Soup is a gift... a series of shared stories where vocabulary isn't studied, it's experienced... and where meals become gatherings. Each tale features twelve characters named for uncommon English words: Mr. Inquisitive, Mrs. Vigilant, Lord Magnanimous. Through their actions, children and adults alike absorb meaning naturally... the way language was always meant to be learned.
The wonder was never in the stones. The secret is remembering our uniqueness and individual purpose, created to be woven together in fellowship with God and one another.
